We’ve seen hundreds of singers grace our stage since Globalsound Studio opened. Many of our students first sang on a stage while attending one of our karaoke birthday parties. Our karaoke parties are a great way for teens and tweens to celebrate their special day. Singing karaoke and dancing in our performance room decked out with a DJ, disco ball, and lights is a blast. Parties often get booked months in advance!

After so many successful parties, we’ve learned a thing or two about what a younger audience likes to sing. Classic karaoke hits like “Sweet Caroline” or “Purple Rain” aren’t exactly hip among the kids. Instead, kids and teens go for current, danceable hits, with an occasional classic tune thrown in the mix.

Wanna know what kids and teens love to sing? Check out some of our most-requested karaoke songs below!

‘Shake It Off’ by Taylor Swift

Pretty much any Taylor Swift song could have made this list. T-Swift’s decades-long career and enduring popularity have made her a favorite choice for adolescent girls.

‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragons

Boys and girls both love singing this song. With falsetto vocals, half-sung/half-rapped verses, and an epic tom-heavy beat, ‘Believer’ is a frequent request.

‘Let It Go’ by Idina Menzel

Parents already know that young girls LOVE singing this song. The first Frozen movie has been out for seven years, yet this powerful ballad remains enduringly popular.

‘Happier’ by Marshmello (featuring Bastille)

He may not be a singer, but Marshmello is undeniably one of our most-requested artists. This DJ and producer has collaborated with top vocalists in the industry ranging from Selena Gomez to Khalid. This track featuring British band Bastille is danceable, catchy, and fun to sing.

‘Old Town Road’ by Lil Nas X (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus)

‘Old Town Road’ is still insanely popular over a year after being released. Perhaps due to its massive popularity on TikTok, this country-rap hybrid dominated the charts in 2019. We get consistent requests for this genre-bending earworm.

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen

Okay, this tune is only requested occasionally. However, with the release of the Freddy Mercury biopic bearing the same name, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ has made a resurgence among the younger generation. It seems that ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is destined to be sung at karaoke everywhere til the end of time.
