Rameses Marlonsson has only been taking formal lessons since 2019 but he is one of the most talented pianists to pass through our studio doors.
Ram built foundational piano skills by following YouTube tutorials and learning songs by ear. Since signing up for lessons, he has learned how to read music and developed his technique and creativity.
Rameses studies numerous styles rooted in jazz. He demonstrates great intuition for expressive playing and thoughtful phrasing. Ram has experimented with soloing and unique chord voicings, developing a solid foundation of jazz piano skills. In addition, Ram is currently working on both cocktail and Latin-style arrangements.
Rameses has participated in several of our virtual recitals and contests. His version of ‘Won’t You Be My Neighbor’ was the most-watched video of our TV Theme Song Contest. We can see why – check out his performance below!
Rameses is interested in playing more public shows next year, either as a solo artist or with a small ensemble. He’s currently working on a lovely arrangement of the classic jazz standard ‘Stardust’. Ram has also built up a solid repertoire of other standards, including ‘Summertime’ and ‘Misty’.
Clearly, Ram is a talented and ambitious pianist who is certain to accomplish more in the future. We hope to hear more of his excellent playing soon!
